De sovjetiske styrker forlader Bornholm efter 11 måneders besættelse d. 5. april 1946 - dagen som bornholmerne kalder den "endelige befrielse". Danske soldater går i land for at overtage bevogtningsopgaverne på øen. Det sovjetiske mandskab strømmer til Rønne Havn for at blive udskibet.
